4 months old!

Annabelle had her 4 month doctor visit yesterday so it's time for some updated stats:

Weight: 13 lbs, 13 oz (52nd percentile)

Length: 24.75 inches (57th percentile)

Head: 15 inches (8th percentile)

Our little pin-head checked out healthy as can be and was cleared to start trying rice cereal this week! She has been sleeping through the night for a while now, but I'm hoping introducing cereal might help us get on a little more regular feeding schedule during the day. We'll see!

In Lizzy news, we're not sure if she is super active, accident prone, or just a normal toddler, but it feels like we've got a new scrape or bruise every week. Most recently, we gradulated Lizzy from her high-chair to a booster seat so she would eat off the table. It was going fine (except for the frequent tossing of her plate) until last night. She managed to kick off the table and knock her chair completely backwards. We ended up with a bit of a bump on the head but probably scared her (and me) more than anyone was really hurt. We're sticking with the booster seat but we are back to using the tray with it so she isn't pushed up to the table. She sure does keep us on our toes!

The "new" kitchen

I know I'm overdue for a post, but things are pretty busy here as you might imagine.
We did manage to get our spring project finished. We replaced our tile countertops and backsplash with granite and stone tile. We're really pleased with the final results. Check it out!

Lizzy is definitely demonstrating that she is now a 'toddler' instead of a baby by getting into everything she possibly can. Thankfully, Annabelle is still content to cuddle and sleep most of her day (and night - thank goodness)!

Growing girls

This week was Lizzy's one year check-up and Annabelle's 2 month check-up. Thankfully, Grammy Pammy volunteered to stay with us this week to help out with the appointment. I don't know how I would have pulled off a doctors visit where they both had to get shots without her help!

Here are the new stats for the girls.

Lizzy:

Weight - 20.8 pounds (90th percentile)

Length - 30 1/2 inches (42nd percentile)

Head - 17 1/2 inches (32nd percentile)

Annabelle:

Weight - 11.3 pounds (52nd percentile)

Length - 22 1/2 inches (48th percentile)

Head - 14 3/4 inches (12th percentile)

Crossing the 20 pound mark means that Lizzy can turn her carseat around to a forward facing position. Jason is very excited about this milestone and plans to make the switch this weekend. We'll see how she likes it!

Birthday Girl!!!

Our little Lizzy turned ONE on Friday so we celebrated with a backyard birthday party on Saturday. Lizzy enjoyed her first cupcake but didn't make nearly as much of a mess as we had expected.

Mommy and Daddy got Lizzy a new Radio Flyer wagon for her birthday. She loved taking wagon rides through the backyard with her friend Meghan.

Annabelle's Due Date

Yesterday (the 23rd) was Annabelle's due date. It was pretty wild to think that I would still be sitting around as big as a house waiting for her arrival. Coincidentally, she had her 1 month doctor visit yesterday so we have stats to share:

Weight: 8 pounds (26th percentile)

Length: 21 1/4 inches (70th percentile)

Head: 13 1/2 inches (4th percentile)

She's doing great but keeping Mommy from getting much sleep. Lizzy is doing well also. She's very curious about her baby sister and is extremely mobile these days. G-Poppi is really hoping she takes her first un-assisted steps before he leaves tomorrow. She's got one step down, but Mommy is insisting that she has to step with both feet for it to count.

Goodbye Blue Light Special

Annabelle and Mommy came home from the hospital on Tuesday morning. Annabelle had a case of jaundice so we had to go to the pediatrician's office each morning to get her Billy count checked. On Wednesday the doctor decided she should start using the "Billy Belt." They brought this machine to our house that has this paddle type thing that is strapped around her waist and glows blue when it is turned on. It emits UV light that helps break down the jaundice in her system. She was stuck wearing the belt all day everyday until Sunday afternoon. We celebrated her 1 week birthday and the removal of the Billy Belt by taking the family to the park on Sunday afternoon. Everyone had a great time getting out in the fresh air and enjoying some sunshine.
