Greenville Zoo

Yesterday we took advantage of the beautiful day and Jason's vacation time to take Lizzy to the Greenville Zoo for the first time. Dan and Meghan Waugh met us there so that Meghan could give us the tour. Lizzy was a good sport, and was particularly fond of the giraffes... I guess they just stuck out the most to her. I have a feeling we'll be back many more times!

Merry Christmas!!!

A belated Merry Christmas to everyone. Lizzy had a great Christmas and enjoyed all the boxes, bows, and gifts inside. We're glad she didn't really understand that all of this was for her...otherwise she might expect a haul like this every year! It's been a week and she is still "discovering" all her new stuff!

Picking our Christmas Tree

Over the weekend, the Goebelbeckers were nice enough to invite us along to their favorite Christmas Tree farm with them. We drove up to Hickory, NC Friday night to spend the night with them and the whole crew drove up to Boone, NC on Saturday. It was a COLD day, but perfect for getting us into the holiday spirit. We found the perfect tree that ended up fitting perfectly in the house. After we picked our trees and were in the barn drinking our hot cocoa, it started to snow! What a perfect way to end the outing. I can't believe we ventured off to the mountains to pick our tree without any mishaps...not a single Griswaldian moment! It must be because Beckie wouldn't let Jason take the Wally Wagon. Maybe next year ;)

Thanksgiving in Florida

We just returned from our week long vacation in Florida. It was nice to get a break from the cold temperatures for our Thanksgiving. Lizzy loved getting so much attention visiting with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Andrea, and Uncle Hadyn.

I figure the holiday is a good opportunity to post our first video. The video is of Grandpa Jack feeding Lizzy her Thanksgiving dinner of turkey and sweet potatoes.

Visitors

Well, it's been a busy month here in Simpsonville. We started the month with a visit from Jason's friend Andrew from Chicago. Andrew flew down for a long weekend to help Jason put the new engine into the wagon. I know Jason was happy to get that job done.

The following weekend, it was the girls' turn for a visit. Maggie and Mia decided to fly out from California to spend their Veteran's Day weekend with us. We had a great time playing and got a good preview of what stages Lizzy is heading for. (Apparently, we've got a lot more baby-proofing to do!)

When Maggie and Mia had to head back to California, we exchanged them in Charlotte for Grandma Sue and G-Popi. As always, we put them to work around the house - this time painting the new nursery. It looks great, but we'll wait on pictures until we've got it set up for full impact.

This weekend we're off to Florida for Thanksgiving week with the Fullers! I just can't believe how fast this month has gone!

Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone had a fun and sugar-filled Halloween. We went to a costume party last weekend and Lizzy dressed up as a snail. Isn't she adorable? Last night, we went over to the Childers' to help them pass out candy and to meet baby Seth. I don't even remember Lizzy ever being that tiny! Happy November everyone - the holidays are upon us!

It's a GIRL!!!

We had our 20 week ultrasound today and found out that Lizzy is going to have a little sister come February! Baby looks great and checked out to be right on track for her February 23rd due date. I think she looks like me, what do you think?

6 Months Old!

Lizzy turned 6 months old on the 3rd, and Tuesday she had her 6 month doctor visit. That means we have new stats to share with everyone! Here goes:

Weight: 17.10 (80th percentile)

Length: 26 1/2 (76th percentile)

Head: 16 1/2 (35th percentile)

We also found out that the eye color she has now is her permanent eye color. For those of you who can't tell from the pictures, Lizzy's eyes are two different colors! They aren't too different from eachother, but they are different! According to the doctor, she'll always have that special feature.

Tomorrow we should find out the sex of Lizzy's younger simbling, so this is your last chance to make your guesses! Expect an update soon!

Playtime!

Lizzy had a wonderful time visiting with Grandma Sue and G-Popi during they recent visit from California. We were sure to put them to work while they were here (as we always do), and Lizzy was the lucky benefactor of a new playroom! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Apple Picking

Today, we drove up to the North Carolina mountains to meet the Goebelbecker's for a day of apple picking at Sky Top Orchard. It was a gorgeous, sunny day (a little on the hot side) and there were tons of apples on the trees to fill up our baskets (Jason has been talking about apple pie all week). Lizzy was on her best behavior and loved walking around the orchards. She finally hit the wall on the walk back to the car.

Vacation in Folly!

We just returned from our vacation with friends to Folly Beach, a great beach town just outside of Charleston. We stayed at a beautiful condo right on the beach which was perfect for short trips to the beach with Lizzy and even some afternoon dips in the pool. When we needed to get out of the sun, we could hang out on the covered balcony at the condo and watch the surf roll in. It was a very relaxing trip and Lizzy did great with the beach and the pool. This kid really knows how to roll with the punches!

Lizzy's Day in Court!

Lizzy was the star of the show today at her court hearing! It's official...she's stuck with us! She did great, giving out smiles and giggles to the judge and all the lawyers. The judge even said he'd take her home!

Surprise!!!

Lizzy has a big announcement to make...she's going to be a big sister! That's right, Beckie is pregnant. Come February, Lizzy will have a little brother or sister to terrorize. Definitely a big surprise for us, but a happy one.

4 months old!

Well, Lizzy turned 4 months old on August 3rd. She got to celebrate by going to the doctor a few days later for her 4 month doctor visit. Our little social butterfly loves all the attention of the check-up, but would probably rather skip the shots. Thankfully, they just made her a little extra sleepy for the next day or two. Here are her latest measurements from the visit:

Weight: 14.3 (62nd percentile)

Length: 25 1/2 (90th perentile)

Head: 15 3/4 (22nd percentile)

As much fun as a visit to the doctor is, I'm pretty sure Lizzy enjoyed her trip to Wilmington this weekend to celebrate Fuller birthdays a little more. (Happy Birthday to Jack, Pam, Andrea, and Jason). She got lots of play time with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Andrea, and Uncle Hadyn. She is turning into quite the little boater!

Lizzy's week with Sydney

This week, Jason's cousin Sydney came down to spend the week with us and play with Lizzy. We had a great time hanging out and showing her around Greenville and Lizzy loved all the extra attention.

Lizzy is continuing to change before our eyes each day. She seems to want to sit-up or stand on your lap anytime she is awake. She needs a little assistance to keep her balance, but it makes her seem like such a big girl!!!

Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July everyone! We had a great afternoon with a family picnic at Cleveland Park. Lizzy was on her best behavior and the dogs LOVED their long walk and all the foreign smells at the park.

Night with the sitter!

This weekend, Grandma Pam and Grandpa Jack came to Greenville to babysit Lizzy for Mommy and Daddy's first night away. While Jason and I were having a great time at Mark and Tracy's wedding in Charleston on Saturday night, Grandma and Grandpa were doing their best to get some rest in between Lizzy feedings. They tell us everything went really well and we feel refreshed after our little vacation... all in all, a great weekend. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Fathers Day! (Better Late then Never Right?)

Hello world! This is Jason's first blog post thing, Beckie said I needed to get on the ball so she could keep adding to it...

We had a fantastic fathers day this last weekend. It started off with the family going to church, and Lizzy went to nursery for the first time. For awhile there we were worried the electronic sign wasn't working because no numbers ever came across the screen, but 35 mins other parents started getting calls. Lizzy made it through with no issues though!
After church we went out to lunch and then had a bar-b-que with friends in the afternoon. Lizzy was quite the entertainer showing everybody how well she plays on her activity mat. Not a whole lot else to report besides a nice relaxing day with beautiful weather! Now let's see if I can add a picture...

Doctor Visit

We had our 2 month appointment today, which meant shots. She definitely wasn't happy about it and has spent the day alternating between sleeping and crying. Hopefully she'll feel a little better tomorrow.

Here are the new measurements:

Weight: 12.10 (85th percentile)
Length: 24 (92nd percentile)
Head: 15 1/4 (75th percentile)

BFFs!!!

Our week in California meant we got to spend time playing with Lizzy's BFF, Mia Sanchez. We figured out a neat fact during our visit...Maggie is exactly 3 months and 1 day older than I am, and Mia is exactly 3 months and 1 day older than Lizzy! Obviously these girls were meant to be friends forever!

Lizzy's CA Trip

We're home!!! Lizzy and Beckie spent the last week and a half visiting family in California. We had a great time seeing family and playing with Grandma Sue and G-Popi.

Uncle Timmy

Two posts in one day! June is a busy month for us...we got home from Wilmington and had one day before Uncle Timmy came to visit. Lizzy and I got up early this morning to drive to Charlotte to pick him up. Lizzy is excited to show Uncle Timmy her typical day...errands with mom, poopy diapers, play time, an an evening cry session! They had bonding time this afternoon while we watched the Kardashian's marathon on E!

Memorial Day

We spent the holiday weekend in Wilmington with Grandma and Grandpa. It was a weekend of firsts for Lizzy...first road trip with the dogs, first trip to Grandma and Grandpa's, and of course, first boat ride!!! She was a trooper for the whole trip, handling the 5 hour drive like a champ and adjusting to the change in environment with ease. Of course, being a Fuller, she loved the boat ride (she shares her father's love of the hum of an engine running). All in all, a great experience for her first weekend away. We're hoping she keeps up the good behavior for the upcoming California trip.

6 weeks old!

Well, today Lizzy reached 6 weeks. I don't have the patience to wait for her 2 month visit to find out how much she has grown so I weighed her myself today. According to our very precise bathroom scale, we've reached 12 pounds!!! I can't guarantee the accuracy of this latest weigh-in, but I did repeat the process and got the same results so it is as close as we are going to get until the next doctor's visit. No wonder she is growing out of so many of her 0-3 month clothes!

Lots of people have asked about how the dogs are doing with Lizzy. They both are doing great with her and have gotten used to her noises and smells. Lizzy seems to tolerate them most of the time, but obviously not when this picture was taken. Just don't expect any pictures with her and Shelby anytime soon. Despite the daily photo sessions, Shelby is still petrified of the camera and flees the room anytime it comes out. Don't know if we'll ever get past that!

Play Time!

Well, our little girl is growing before our eyes. Lizzy will be 6 weeks old tomorrow. These days, she is still primarily eating, sleeping, and pooping, but there is more and more active awake time each day. She has just started giving us real smiles (I haven't been able to catch them on camera yet) and has recently "found" her hands! As she becomes more aware of everything around her, she is more interested in her playtime which is fun for us both!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day everyone! My first Mother's Day started off great when Lizzy didn't wake me up for a feeding until 4:30!!! She did the same thing on Thursday night...she had her last feeding at 11PM and slept all the way to 4:30!!!!!!! I'm really hoping nights like this become more regular.

When we left for church this morning, this little guy was hanging out in the front yard to see us off. We did church and lunch this morning and Jason took Lizzy duty this afternoon so I was free to do some shopping and baking. Jason & Lizzy got me a spa package so it is almost like I'll get a second Mother's Day when I get to go get my massage...sweet!

Leaving our mark on O'Charleys

Today we took Lizzy out to dinner with our friends Scott and Priscilla and their one year old son, Noah. Dinner was great and it was nice to spend some time with friends. Lizzy slept through most of the meal waking up near the end to eat her own dinner. We almost make it through the meal without incident when Lizzy proceeded to projectile spit-up all over the place. Jason took the brunt of it since he was feeding her and was left looking like he'd wet his pants, but the floor of O'Charley's looked like we'd spilled a glass of spoiled milk. I guess we better get used to leaving a messy trail everywhere we go!

Learning to shop

I'm glad everyone likes the blog! Nothing too exciting to report today so I included a pic of Lizzy from our trip to Target today. She definitely hasn't acquired her mother's appreciation for Target quite yet...the meltdown began not long after this photo was taken. Hopefully her tolerance for shopping trips will improve with time.

One Month Old!

Lizzy turned one month old yesterday (May 3rd). I can't believe it has already been a month...but if the calendar didn't confirm it to be true, than her size would certainly give it away. We had our one month check-up on Tuesday and got new measurements. She is up to 10 pounds, 4 ounces and 22 1/4 inches. She's already starting to grow out of some of her 0-3 month outfits! The doctor said we should expect her to give us a real smile (that isn't just gas) any day now! Can't wait for that development!

Introducing our Blog

Welcome to the Fuller Family! Members include Mom and Dad (Beckie and Jason). Little Lizzy who just turned 1 month old yesterday on May 3rd, and our dogs Marley and Shelby. We live in South Carolina and moved out here from the coast of California.

Here are some pictures of the family!
