9 month checkup

Lizzy had her 9 month check up today. The lucky girl didn't have to get any shots, just a finger prick to check her hemoglobin. Here are the latest stats!

Weight: 19.4 - 56th percentile

Length: 29 1/2 - 96th percentile

Head: 17 - 25th percentile

No wonder she liked the giraffes so much at the zoo! Our little girl is going to be taller than her mom and dad before she's 12 years old!

Check out that bump

After several requests, here is a look at Beckie's ever growing belly. We've got a little more than 6 weeks left to grow, I mean go!

Greenville Zoo

Yesterday we took advantage of the beautiful day and Jason's vacation time to take Lizzy to the Greenville Zoo for the first time. Dan and Meghan Waugh met us there so that Meghan could give us the tour. Lizzy was a good sport, and was particularly fond of the giraffes... I guess they just stuck out the most to her. I have a feeling we'll be back many more times!

Merry Christmas!!!

A belated Merry Christmas to everyone. Lizzy had a great Christmas and enjoyed all the boxes, bows, and gifts inside. We're glad she didn't really understand that all of this was for her...otherwise she might expect a haul like this every year! It's been a week and she is still "discovering" all her new stuff!

Picking our Christmas Tree

Over the weekend, the Goebelbeckers were nice enough to invite us along to their favorite Christmas Tree farm with them. We drove up to Hickory, NC Friday night to spend the night with them and the whole crew drove up to Boone, NC on Saturday. It was a COLD day, but perfect for getting us into the holiday spirit. We found the perfect tree that ended up fitting perfectly in the house. After we picked our trees and were in the barn drinking our hot cocoa, it started to snow! What a perfect way to end the outing. I can't believe we ventured off to the mountains to pick our tree without any mishaps...not a single Griswaldian moment! It must be because Beckie wouldn't let Jason take the Wally Wagon. Maybe next year ;)

Thanksgiving in Florida

We just returned from our week long vacation in Florida. It was nice to get a break from the cold temperatures for our Thanksgiving. Lizzy loved getting so much attention visiting with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Andrea, and Uncle Hadyn.

I figure the holiday is a good opportunity to post our first video. The video is of Grandpa Jack feeding Lizzy her Thanksgiving dinner of turkey and sweet potatoes.

Visitors

Well, it's been a busy month here in Simpsonville. We started the month with a visit from Jason's friend Andrew from Chicago. Andrew flew down for a long weekend to help Jason put the new engine into the wagon. I know Jason was happy to get that job done.

The following weekend, it was the girls' turn for a visit. Maggie and Mia decided to fly out from California to spend their Veteran's Day weekend with us. We had a great time playing and got a good preview of what stages Lizzy is heading for. (Apparently, we've got a lot more baby-proofing to do!)

When Maggie and Mia had to head back to California, we exchanged them in Charlotte for Grandma Sue and G-Popi. As always, we put them to work around the house - this time painting the new nursery. It looks great, but we'll wait on pictures until we've got it set up for full impact.

This weekend we're off to Florida for Thanksgiving week with the Fullers! I just can't believe how fast this month has gone!
